To be Left Alone

I was in our room busy compiling a video when Ate Hale opened the door. “Bye Momma,” then she kissed me on my cheek. “We’re leaving because mommy will buy us a Barbie. You can call Poppa or your classmates… Or you can imagine they’re here.”

She left. After a couple of minutes, she returned with Chantry. Ate Hale commanded, “Chantry, kiss Momma.” Chanty hurried toward me and kissed me not just on my left cheek but on the right, too. She didn’t stop there, she even hugged me. Ate Hale continued, “Wawa Momma.” (Pitiful mother).

To be left in the house alone, they felt they had to take pity on me. They left together, while in my mind I exclaimed, “Yes, I’m finally free!”
