The best time of my life each day is when I reach home and the entire family meets me at the door to greet me. I wish I was enough, but no! They ask if I have any “pasalubong”!
At least Erwin doesn’t ask much about this. It’s my kids, especially Chantry, who’s most excited to find out if I have anything for them. She opens my bag and digs for any suspicious yummies she could find. When I had nothing for them, her face fell flat, still cute, and went about the evening working on her artwork. Ate Hale, on the other hand, continued to scribble on her notes as she ventured to high school as Grade 8.
I hate to even say this cliche, but kids are growing up too fast! I should keep up.
Family time is something that I will never trade to anyone or anything in this world. To witness my children and husband thriving in body and spirit is to receive a gift beyond measure. As we navigate life’s complexities, may our appreciation for these smallest yet most vital units of society remain steadfast, reminding us of the beauty and strength that can be found in the simplest of human connections–our family.
